Getting your Outlook work calendar onto your phone
By default the Outlook app keeps work calendars to itself, so no other app on the phone can see them. One setting changes that.
On Android
Switch on calendar sharing in Outlook
- Open the Outlook app and tap your picture or initials in the top-left corner.
- Tap the settings cog at the bottom of that panel.
- Under "Mail accounts", tap your work account and switch on "Sync calendars".
- Wait a minute, then in On Time tap "Try again" on the calendar step.
Greyed out or "not allowed by your organisation"? Your IT team has blocked it. Use a calendar link or the rota template instead.
On iPhone
Add the work account to the phone itself
- Open Settings, then Apps, then Calendar, then Accounts.
- Tap "Add Account", then "Microsoft Exchange" (NHS and most workplaces).
- Sign in with your work email and make sure "Calendars" is switched on.
- Open the Calendar app once, then in On Time tap "Try again".
The Outlook app on iPhone never shares its calendar with other apps, which is why the account has to be added to the phone.
Then let On Time take it from there
Once your Outlook calendar is visible to the phone, we read your shifts from it and check the roads before every one.
