Open the Work tab. A red box at the top means the phone has switched off a permission the alarm needs; tap it and allow what it asks for. On Android 14 and later the one that matters most is "Full-screen alarm" (sometimes called "Show on lock screen"). The app also needs exact alarms, notifications, and to be excluded from battery saving. Settings → "Let the alarm through" lists them all.

Outlook keeps its calendars to itself until you switch on "Sync calendars" in its settings. The steps are here. If the switch is greyed out, your IT team has blocked it; use a calendar link or the rota template instead.

A calendar entry counts as a shift when its title has a shift keyword or code, when it names your work site, or when you tick it. Open the entry and tick "This is a shift", or teach the app your codes under Settings → Shift codes.

Every feature is free for 14 days from first launch. After that, the schedule stays free (shifts, Life, Events, Tasks and the month view) with no traffic checks and no alarms. Advanced is £2.99 a month or £29.99 a year through Google Play. Cancel any time in the Play Store under Subscriptions; you keep Advanced until the end of the period you paid for.

No. It takes one reading at each traffic check before an alarm so the journey starts from where you actually are, wherever that is. Nothing is tracked between checks and no position is stored. If the phone cannot say where you are, the journey is planned from home. The privacy policy says exactly what leaves the phone.

Journey times come from Google Maps at the time you would leave. Check the workplace address under Settings → Workplaces (a postcode is best) and how you travel. "Typical journey" on the alarm card means the live check has not happened yet; it happens 20 minutes before the alarm and again 5 minutes after.

Yes. They share their Google or Outlook calendar with you and let you edit it; then tick their calendar under Settings → Sharing. Hold a shift, a Life or Events entry, or a task, tap the share icon, and choose just that one or all of them. It appears in their calendar beside their own entries. To see theirs, tick their calendar under "Other people's shifts". Nothing passes through us.

Settings → "Reset everything" wipes everything the app holds, and so does uninstalling. Nothing is stored anywhere else.
